VentureVista
Your Passport to Adventure: Inspire, Explore, and Plan all in one app!
Project Overview
After graduating, college students often travel and go on trips with their friends as a break and celebration of their hard work and achievements. Hence, I created VentureVista, an app that empowers young travelers to inspire, explore, and plan seamless fun adventures with their friends.

Ideation
For the ideation phase, my main focus was creating a fun, easy-to-use app that allows young travelers to:
Sitemap
I created a sitemap with the purpose of organizing the content in my app. I used a color-coding system to highlight the three main features and sub-features of my app.
Sketches
I created a total of 11 sketches to outline the different screens users would be able to see when using the app. These screens display the path of the main functions of the app, including getting inspired by photos, exploring destinations, and planning trips.
Wireframes
Using figma, I recreated my sketches to display the three functions and sub-functions of my app:

Hi-Fi Screens
Using the same colors, typography, and iconography in my mood board, I then created Hi-Fi screens for VentureVista.

Prototyping & Redesigning
I created a prototype using Figma. I then pitched my app to my professor and classmates in my Experience and Interaction class. The main piece of feedback I got was that the icons I used (cloud for inspiration, location for explore, and mountain for trips) were not intutive what each represented in the app. Therefore, in I redesigned the bottom navigational bar to have words under each icon to clearly indicate the function of page, so that users wouldn't have to think twice.

Learnings & Retrospect
This app, as part of my final in my Experience and Interaction class, was a fun project, where I was able to tie everything I learned from competitor research to designing for emotions and wireframing to prototyping. I was able to evolve my initial inspiration of an island map into a fun adventurous app, tailored to my target user of young travelers.
